Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, home of the Belgian Grand Prix, winds through the Ardennes forest near Stavelot and the town of Spa in eastern Belgium. The original 1921 circuit used public roads between Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot and was roughly twice today's length. Spa featured in the first Formula 1 World Championship in 1950, and the shorter permanent circuit that forms today's layout arrived in 1979.
At 7.004 km it is the longest lap on the current calendar, famed for the steep climb through Eau Rouge and Raidillon onto the Kemmel Straight. Fast sweepers such as Pouhon and Blanchimont reward commitment, and the lap ends with the Bus Stop chicane before the La Source hairpin. The circuit's sheer size means one part of the track can be wet while another is dry.

What to watch for: Changeable Ardennes weather is the great variable, while slipstreaming along the Kemmel Straight sets up overtaking into Les Combes, with the Bus Stop chicane another key spot.
