Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro is a Spanish driver from Madrid and the son of two-time world rally champion Carlos Sainz. A former Red Bull junior and the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 champion, he made his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso in 2015, moved to Renault late in 2017 and joined McLaren in 2019, taking his first podium in Brazil that year.
Sainz raced for Ferrari from 2021 to 2024, winning the 2022 British Grand Prix, the only non-Red Bull victory of 2023 in Singapore, and two races in 2024: Australia, barely two weeks after appendix surgery, and Mexico City. He joined Williams for 2025, scoring podiums in Baku and Qatar, and became a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association that year.
