Valtteri Viktor Bottas is a Finnish driver from Nastola who won the Formula Renault Eurocup and NEC titles in 2008, the Masters of Formula 3 in 2009 and 2010, and the 2011 GP3 Series. He made his Formula 1 debut with Williams in 2013 and finished fourth in the 2014 championship before joining Mercedes in 2017 as the replacement for the retiring world champion Nico Rosberg.
Bottas won ten Grands Prix with Mercedes, the first at the 2017 Russian Grand Prix, finished runner-up to Lewis Hamilton in 2019 and 2020 and contributed to five consecutive constructors' titles. After three seasons with the Hinwil-based Alfa Romeo and Sauber team, he spent 2025 as Mercedes' reserve driver before returning to the grid with Cadillac for its debut season in 2026.
